Bhutan is one of best destination for travelling in the world! Country cushioned in the eastern Himalaya. It is naturally, religiously, historically rich country; rhododendron and pine forest, historical monasteries and temples, folk dance and festivals are the ornament of this country.

Every year many festivals are celebrating from the years, Ura Uakchoe is one them, which is held in the month of May. During the festival the sacred and significant relic will be shown, which blesses the people. Behind the relic there is a legend, once upon a time an old woman was sitting outside of her home meanwhile a lame came there and asked for a cup of drink water when she went to bring water, lame disappeared leaving a ruined sack. Out of interest, she checked the bag and find out statue that is shown yearly during the festival.

This trip joins the different towns through the jungles of rhododendron, blue pine and blue puppy (the National Flower). The traced rice field, rippling rivers are rewarding on the trail. In this tour the itineraries is customizing with best destinations.

    Arrival at Paro (by Druk Air) then transfer to Thimphu.

    Druk Air, national airlines of Bhutan take you in Paro. Cool, clean and fresh air is the first present of Bhutan when you step out from plane. Afterward clearing the VISA control and customs you will travel to Thimpu, capital city of Bhutan.

    Sightseeing in and around Thimphu

    After having breakfast in the hotel you leave for day tour around Thimpu. First you will stop at Bhutans National Bank to exchange currency, and then you will visit the National Memorial Chorten which was built in 1974 on the memory of 3rd King. Next to visit is National Museum, National Library, where you can see ancient manuscripts, Textile Museum and, art-crafts school.

    Thimphu to Punakha

    Today you are going to visit Punakha, which is an ancient capital of Bhutan. Road to Punakha is ascent steeply through the forest and cross Dochula pass (3050m). Pass always offers you a perfect panoramic view of Himalayan mountain ranges. After having short tea break you will decent to Punakha Valley, along the hairpin turn to valley and continue to hotel. Afterward the lunch you will move to visit Punakha Dzong, located between Mo Chu and Pho Chu rivers.

    Punakha to Bumthang

    Early driving to central valleys of Bhutan crossing Pele La Pass (3300m) and Yotongla Pass (3400m), meets Bumthang. En route you will Trongsa, Wangdue, a major town of western Bhutan and also district headquarter. The steadily ascending roads go though the semi-tropical flora and the cross Pele La Pass 3300m. Pass is traditionally measured as the border of west and east Bhutan; from the pass you can see Mt. Jomalhari (7314m) in the west. You cross Chendebji Chorten that was built in centuries ago to overwhelm a demon. A beautiful town Bumthang will reach after crossing the pass Yotongla (3400m).

    Bumthang excursion and sightseeing

    Today you explore the Bumthang, first you will have short hike to Kurjey Lhakhang and Tamsing Monastery, both holds historically significant. Tamsing monastery is an oldest monastic school and Kurjey Lhakhang, which have the imprint demons subdued by Guru Rimpoche. Another Dzong, which is using by district administrative, called Jaka Dzong. En route you will visit a temple – Jamby Lhakahng that was build in 7th century. And on the concluding day you will heads off to eastern Bumthang to visit a burning lake- Membar Tsho and Swiss cheese factory.

    Bumthang to Ura

    Today you will observe Ura Yakchoe, after breakfast you will drive to Ura Valley, which is reflected as holiest valley of Bhutan. Bhutanese pilgrims will gather from different places to pay respect and to be blessed. The attraction of tour is Bhutanese dress up with finest clothes and ornaments they wear. Dance and dancer’s steps (thunderbolt), mask of glorious and animal arouses, arrays of colorful brocades are make visit worth-full.

    Ura to Bumthang

    Today you get chance to meet Ura Head Lama, watch a unique dance in his style, mimic dancers and entertain onlookers. The gods are prayed through the dedication and luck increased. Afterward drive back to Bumhtang.

    Bumthang – Trongsa – Wangdue

    When you have the breakfast then drive to Wangdue via Trongsa by crossing Pele La Pass (3300m).

    Wangdue to Phobjikha

    After breakfast drive to Phobjikha, which is located on eastern part of Punakha and Wangdue, en route you will visit Wangdue Dzong. In the trip before reach Phobjikha valley you will also visit an old monastery called Gangtey Gompa,which was built in 17th century. This is also winter hometown of Black-necked Cranes; they migrated from arid plains of Tibetan Plateau. Afternoon you walk through the village and also visit Black-Necked Crane.

    Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s nest)

    Today you will hike up to the Taktsang Monastery a dramatic Tiger Nest built in 1600; incredible monastery grips to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900m. According to the history, a Guru called Padma Sambhava landed here on the back of flying tiger to meditate. He had meditated there for three months and established Buddhism.

Trekkers personal goods such as money purse, cameras, cell phones and the cosmetic items that you need in day time, while you are hiking. Porter carries others your heavy equipment.

I have never thought of myself as a hiker or a trekker, but somehow, the idea of trekking through the Himalayas and venturing through Nepals and the worlds highest mountain seems exhilarating and almost out of reach. I did the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp in October 2013, and it was and still is one of the best experience in my life. We had Gyanu as our guide for the entire trip and not only has he been patient with a beginner trekker like myself, he explained and shared with us his cult Linda Nguyen
