Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01
    Arrival at Paro (by Druk Air) then transfer to Thimphu

    The Druk Air, national airlines of Bhutan takes you in Paro. Cool, clean and fresh air is the first present of Bhutan when you step out from the plane. Afterward clearing the VISA control and customs you will travel to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan.

  • Day 02
    Sightseeing in and around Thimphu

    After having the breakfast in the hotel you leave for the day tour around Thimpu. First you will stop at Bhutans National Bank to exchange currency, then you will visit the National Memorial Chorten, which was built in 1974 on the memory of 3rd King. Next to visit is National Museum, National Library, where you can see the ancient manuscripts, Textile Museum and, art-crafts school.

  • Day 03
    Drive from Thimphu to Punakha for a day’s sightseeing and return to Thimphu

    Today you travel to Punakha, a beautiful destination of Bhutan. On way to Punakha across the Dochu La Pass (3050 m); that gives a panoramic view of Himalaya. Road under the forest of pine and cedar festooned with hanging lichen high up near the Dochu La Pass. After crossing the pass you drive to Lobusa and take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang Temple. It is believed that the Goddess blesses to the women for fertility. The next is Punakha Dzong, which was built in 1637A D between two rivers Phochu and Mochu. After finishing the tour you will drive back to Thimpu.

  • Day 04
    Leaving Thimphu we drive towards Paro with sightseeing along the way

    After breakfast in the hotel, you will travel back to Paro. You visit Rimpung Dzong, on the way to down you cross the cantilever bridge, which was made on 16th Century. And also you will visit Drgyel Dzong victory fortress, built in 1647 A D. In the clear day you can see the Mt. Jomlahari. In the late afternoon of the day, you will visit farm houses and lifestyle of traditional Bhutanese people.

  • Day 05
    Excursion to the Taktsang Monastery (Tigers Nest)

    Today you will hike up to the Taktsang Monastery a dramatic Tiger Nest built in 1600; incredible monastery grips to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900m. According to the history, a Guru called Padma Sambhava landed here on the back of flying tiger to meditate. He had meditated there for three months and established Buddhism.

    Transfer to international airport for your final departure

    This is the day for leaving Bhutan; our airport representative will drop off to the international airport.

This is a section where you get the general idea equipment that you need in Bhutan Vista Tours. The important and serious part of equipment selection depends on the trekking season, trekking days, and maximum altitude.

Trekkers personal goods such as money purse, cameras, cell phones and the cosmetic items that you need in day time, while you are hiking. Porter carries others your heavy equipment.

  8. Toiletry kit. Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc

I have never thought of myself as a hiker or a trekker, but somehow, the idea of trekking through the Himalayas and venturing through Nepals and the worlds highest mountain seems exhilarating and almost out of reach. I did the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp in October 2013, and it was and still is one of the best experience in my life.
