Everest Base Camp Distance

The journey of Everest Base Camp starts from Kathmandu. When you arrived in Kathmandu, now your trip begins. Generally, in the standard itinerary, there is a day for Kathmandu city tour. After the tour in the bustling city, the journey of Everest Base Camp kicks off. It is important that to know the details about the trek before you start. A couple of things play the significant role during the trek. So, in general, better to know some details such as Everest Base Camp distance, maximum altitude, and durations.

Let’s see Everest Base Camp distance:

Day 01- Fly to Lukla- It is an easy day, just have about 30 minutes short but the scenic flight to Lukla. Today you will gain altitude from the previous days. Kathmandu is at the elevation of 1335m to Lukla 2840m from the sea level. And then trek to Phakding (2610m). Walking distance is 9KM from Lukla.

Day 02 – Trek to Namche Bazaar- The walking trail of Phakding to Namche is all the way to the bank of Dhudhkoshi river. Today is the somehow tough day but the not the longest day. And also gain the elevation. Phakding is 2,610m and Namche is 3,441m. Walking distance is 12 KM from Phakding.

Day 03- Hike around  Namche Bazaar- Today is for the acclimatization day, which is most important for the Everest Base Camp trek. On the day we will hike up to Syangboche airport, Khumjung village (3,860m) and also explore the museum, national park. Walking distance is 3KM.

Day 04- Trek to Tengboche- Gradually, we are gaining the elevation Tengboche is located at the elevation of 3,860m from sea level. Walking distance is 12 KM.

Day 05- Trek to Dingboche- Today we are trekking to Dingboche (4,350m). The elevation is also higher than previous and the treeline ground is started. Walking distance is 12 KM.

Day 06- Hike around Dingboche- Today we are hiking to Nagarsang Hill(5090m). The elevation is also higher than previous days. Nagarsang Hill is almost similar with Lobuche Walking distance is 3 KM.

Day 07- Trek to Lobuche (4,910m)- We are nearly about out target Everest Base Camp. Today is just a before EBC. Walking distance is 12 KM.

Day 08- Trek to Gorkhashep- Finally we reach Gorkhashep(5,170m)Walking distance is 5 KM. and continue to Everest Base Camp Walking distance is 10 KM. Up & Down.

Day 09- Trek to Pheriche- Early morning hike up to Kalapathar (5,555m)Walking distance is 1.5 KM. and back to lodge and then continue down to Pheriche. Walking distance is 16 KM.

Day 10- Trek to Namche (3,341m)- The downhill trekking from Pheriche to Namche is the longest day of the whole trek. But there is no problem of altitude sickness. Walking distance is 22 KM.

Day 11- Trek to Lukla (2,840m)- Finally, ends the trek by reaching Lukla. Today is the second longest day of the trek. Walking distance is 21 KM.

Day 12- Fly to Kathmandu- We are nearly about out target Everest Base Camp. Today is just a before EBC.
