Amazing trekking trail of Nepal, Everest Base Camp trek is famous in the world. The iconic route starts with the short but scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It is the base camp of world’s highest peak Mt. Everest, located at 5364m from sea level. Every year thousands of tourist visit the base of Mt. Everest. There are two major routes for Everest Base Camp Trekking, crossing the Chola pass via Gokyo and direct base camp via Tengboche. Trekking through the Gokyo Ri is also called Everest Circuit Trek. Trail of Gokyo departs after Namche, take the left lane. Gokyo is the valley of Lakes, altogether there are 5 lakes. First and second lakes are bit smaller than third and also less popular. The third lake is the campsite, there are the guesthouses for overnight at Gokyo. Fifth Lake and Gokyo Ri is the viewpoint however, the fifth lake is quite far from the guesthouse. We have to take packing lunch for the fifth lake but not for Gokyo Ri. Gokyo Ri is popular and accessible to catch the sunrise and sunset view.
Chola pass is one of the popular passes in Everest region. It is also somehow difficult pass of Everest. Once you cross the Chola Pass then reach Lobuche. It is the meeting point from Tengboche route and Gokyo route for Everest Base Camp.
